The hotel had a lot to offer in terms of its location being in old town Amersham, full of character and overlooking the Main Street. However, the rooms were not up to the standard I expected with a stuffy atmosphere, decor issues, and unwanted morning disturbances. The dining experience was good overall, but there were some staffing issues. The facilities met basic needs but lacked standout features.

The rooms were disappointing, with decor problems, stuffiness, and unwanted noise in the early morning. They didn't seem clean or comfortable.
Service
6.0
The service was acceptable overall; however, there were some issues with the bar staff not being attentive and room for improvement in terms of customer handling.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were very spacious with good facilities like tea and coffee, but they overlooked a kitchen window where cigarette butts had been thrown, and it was very cold on entry due to the oddly placed and ineffective radiator. Getting to the rooms required navigating spiral staircases.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were spacious and had good facilities like tea/coffee, but the view of the kitchen window with cigarette butts was off-putting. The room was also very cold due to the ineffective radiator placement.

The hotel is located in a charming old building in the heart of Amersham, perfect for meeting up with friends and family. The historic coaching inn setting adds to its appeal.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience had its ups and downs. The buffet food was disappointing as it was not replenished promptly, but the cooked food was enjoyable. The continental options were average.
Facilities
The hotel offers various facilities but could use improvements in certain areas.

A stay at this hotel in Old Amersham offers a mix of positives and drawbacks. The beautiful old room with plenty of beams adds character, but the service was not perfect. The quiet village location is charming, yet some dining experiences fell short.

My partner and I had a lovely stay at the hotel. The rooms were immaculate, and my partner especially enjoyed the quick-filling bath in our suite. While the room was spacious and had everything we needed, a couple of the lamps were not working, but it didn't bother us much. The room had a lot of character, and the bathroom was excellent.

Rooms
9.0
The rooms were immaculate and spacious, filled with character.
Service
7.0
The staff were polite overall, and the breakfast service was good. However, there was a bit of a grumpy attitude from some of the staff, except for the gentlemanly door staff, like Gary, who made our evening special.
Location

The location was great, right in Old Amersham and close to charming coffee shops and restaurants. However, the noise from nearby pubs in the middle of the night was a bit disturbing.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was mixed. Breakfast went cold quickly due to cold plates, but the wood-fired pizzas were great.
Facilities

The hotel facilities were decent, with attentive staff for our last-minute celebration needs.

The hotel had some upsides and downsides. The rooms were smaller and not ideally located near the courtyard, but they were satisfactory overall. The service was a mix of rude behavior and standard staff interactions. The location was charming despite issues with cleanliness and staff attitude. The dining experience stood out as one of the best, with friendly and attentive staff.
